BF6 Gamers Agree: Missions Are Way Too Hard
The debut of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 garnered significant enthusiasm, particularly for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, concurrent player counts reached a high of nearly 750,000. Yet, in spite of its success, many players are protesting against a portion of the release's toughest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.
Players have started resorting to personalized games set up using Battlefield Portal to achieve these objectives, highlighting just how grueling these assignments have become.
Grasping Battlefield 6 Tasks
Assignments are Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, in contrast to the regularly refreshed day-to-day and weekly tasks. The game includes four classes of assignments, but where most simply offer outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the sole method of obtaining a dozen out of forty-one main guns available in the game.
Several of these locked weapons might eventually earn a place on rankings for the finest arms in Battlefield 6.
Player Outcry via Reddit
On Reddit, players are understandably voicing their concerns about how challenging and repetitive several of these challenges are. A particular gamer emphasized one of the most egregious examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This challenge is so terrible and totally unreasonable, I want to tear my hair out," is a quote that summarizes just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
The suppression feature in the game is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it had in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
Meanwhile, hipfiring an LMG is extremely unreliable and functions solely at point-blank proximity, which isn't typically where you want to be. That player also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that challenge would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and conversely.
Another Overly Demanding Mission
A different forum member brought attention to an additional excessively hard challenge, this time in the long-range weapon type to unlock the PSR:
- Secure 150 precision takedowns over 200m with sniper rifles
This is difficult enough on its own, but there's another important point to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at that kind of range.
There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but since there are only nine battlegrounds in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing a specific urban map, Mirak Valley, and perhaps Operation Firestorm at a push if you plan to engage from afar from beyond 200 meters.
The Workaround
There is a workaround though: the portal. The custom game creator is a feature that enables you to design tailored experiences on the battleground of your choice, including AI opponents. This allows you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the developer's vision.
However, when doing the challenges in a standard match appears to work against fun, since you must engage in such an atypical style that harms both you and your squad, who can blame someone for completing them in a private match so teammates aren't hindered?
Potential Changes
It is expected if a number of these missions are made easier in the next few updates, because unless they are modified, a portion of the user base simply will never acquire the restricted guns.
At the moment, the audience continues to share their thoughts on these demanding battlefield assignments, hoping for a less arduous overall gameplay in future updates.
