Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Player the Athlete

The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening confirming they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.

The organization omitted the name of the player by name in their announcement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Claims Posted on Instagram

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice by name, shared a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. Jones stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Currently Not on File

No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.

Player's Prior Legal Issues

The receiver was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left multiple people hurt. Rice was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.

Statistically, Rice concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
