Our Friends at Fextralife Introduce a Dedicated Space for Mods

The modding landscape has never been more expansive or highly requested as it is currently. Modders who designed new mechanics for classics such as Skyrim and Baldur’s Gate III have secured significant positions in gaming. Entire games were developed using existing foundations. Someone even figured out how to make Silksong somewhat more accessible.

Indeed, in this time, all things look feasible with a concept, technical expertise, and a little gumption. Therefore, it’s expected that more of the industry is looking to support that constantly increasing customization network, and that our friends from Fextralife are participating in the initiative. This week, the information platform declared it would expand its offerings with the FXMods platform, a “brand-new gaming mod platform created for players who want a fast, free, and unthrottled modifications to enhance their beloved releases.

FXMods guarantees to be a free platform with no download speed throttling, immediate availability, and linkage with the larger Fextralife wiki system, which seeks to enable developers to gain more exposure as gamers find their downloadables within a broader collection.

What is the vision for this new platform? I questioned the Fextralife representative Matt Hook, who has been deeply involved in shepherding the launch.

“What we're doing here is really trying to focus on the community’s needs,” Hook explains. “We want a great experience for those downloading mods to be able to obtain custom content promptly and conveniently, and we want to recognize content developers and participants in the scene with recognition and incentives.”
