The children's author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.
Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
A spokesman for the publisher said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.
The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."
An Illustrious Publishing History
Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Some of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles in total, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.
From Screen to Page
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
